What it actually buys you is fewer wrong assumptions in the first fortnight, and a shorter list of the questions nobody thought to ask.

What sector experience actually changes

Three things change when the industry changes, and none of them are the interface.

The first is the data model. A hospital appointment and a salon appointment look identical on a wireframe. They stop looking identical the moment you ask who may see a cancelled booking, how long the record has to be retained, and whether the person who took it can edit it afterwards. Get that wrong at the schema stage and you pay for it for years.

The second is the compliance surface. Finance, insurance and healthcare builds carry audit trails, consent capture and retention rules that a cafe loyalty app never will. Those are cheap to design in and expensive to retrofit.

The third is the integration list. Every sector has three or four systems that were chosen before anyone called us and will outlive the project. Logistics has the carrier and customs systems. Manufacturing has the ERP and the machines on the floor. Real estate has the listing portals. Knowing which of those has a usable API and which needs a nightly file drop is most of the estimate.

We say so on the first call and price the learning curve into the estimate instead of burying it in a contingency line. Familiarity with a sector is a head start, not a licence to skip discovery. Every project still starts with your process rather than our template, because two companies in the same industry rarely run the same way.

How an industry page relates to a service page

An industry page describes the problem context. A service page describes what gets built with it. Most projects pair one of each, so a manufacturer might arrive through the industrial page and leave with business automation, while a retail brand pairs its sector with ecommerce development.

The common pairings are custom software development for operations nobody sells an off the shelf tool for, web application development for internal systems, mobile app development where the work happens away from a desk, API integration for the systems you already run, and SaaS product development when the software is the business.
